Nelson Lugo: About Me
THE MAGICIAN
Nelson Lugo, a world class, award winning entertainer, is a New York City based actor/magician, with over 15 years of performing experience.
He first started performing magic when he was nine and a half years old, after receiving a Harry Blackstone Jr. Magic Kit for Christmas. He was a very, very good boy that year and he's been mystifying audiences young and old ever since.
Later, he then went on to apprentice and study under the guidance and tutelage of the greatest Masters and Wizards of magic at the Magic Round Table in Orlando, Fl., and was lucky enough to have worked for the renowned Old Town Magic Co. He sometimes wonders what would have happened differently in his life if he had gotten a box of Lincoln Logs that year.
He's performed all over North America in cities such as San Francisco, Winnipeg, Orlando, Chicago, Seattle, Toronto and of course New York City. His clients include major corporations, universities and charitable organizations.
Funny, charming and energetic, Nelson's performance style combines classic magic with a refreshing contemporary twist, an electrifying blend of modern theatricality and old school showmanship. His wit, charm and skill have earned him both critical and popular acclaim as well as the respect of his magical brothers and sisters in the conjuring community.
He specializes in custom tailoring each performance to fit the specific needs of each and every client.
THE ACTOR
Nelson Lugo started acting in high school when he lost a bet with his sister. If you ask him he'll tell you that he still pursues acting because he likes to play dress-up. The truth is that he's still paying off the bet to his sister. Nelson has attended several prestigious acting conservatories and most recently completed the two year course at the William Esper Studios where he studied with Maggie Flanagan, as a result Nelson now knows no fear.
The roles he is most proud of are: Benedick in "Much Ado About Nothing" for A&TWT Productions, playing the Dog in "The Adventure's of Baba Yaga" for the Messenger Theater Co. and Rizwan in "Raisins Not Virgins" for the Workshop Theater Co.
